In tribute to Raymond Leach November 16th 1941-October 3rd 2018

Raymond Leach had a real passion and love of sport, particularly football, with a huge awareness of the positive part sport can give to young people. He used to watch the youth games every weekend at King Georges Park, up until around 10 years ago, when he became too ill to walk there. Today is Raymonds funeral and last week we had an email from his daughter Heather requesting that instead of flowers people donated to London Sports Trust. An extremely kind and thoughtful act at this sad time. Wates Living Space brings mental health and wellbeing to Trellick Tower

After a 10-week mental health and wellbeing programme, which involved table tennis classes and fitness workshops, a number of residents at Trellick Tower in North Kensington got the opportunity to show off their new skills to Great Britain Paralympic table tennis gold medalist, Will Bayley MBE. The Think Active initiative was delivered in partnership with London Sports Trust to support residents’ mental and physical wellbeing as part of major refurbishment works being undertaken at the tower block, by Wates Living Space. On November the 2nd, London Sports Trust Blades are putting on a Bonfire night paddle for the second year running. Local residents will have the opportunity to kayak and canoe down the river themes towards Bishops Park to watch the amazing fireworks from the bank of the River Thames as well as enjoying a hot chocolate looking over the night sky. This session has already sold out. Thank you to everyone that has booked as all of the money raised will go towards our junior program. Play Football

As part of our award winning CSA programme, one of our most popular CSA football sessions at Play Football in white city has seen huge numbers of participants attending. We have had great numbers of up to 10-15 young participants turning up weekly this month. Everyone took part in training sessions and fun games leading to weekly mini tournaments with local community members from brotherhood. Some of our stand out performers Kushon and Mohammed (both in Year 10) were both amazing against brotherhood during the mini tournaments and scored and assisted a lot of the team’s goals.
