Claudia Manera was an extremely motivating sports enthusiast who tragically passed away. She had a passion for sports, which lead her to not only compete in numerous competitions such as marathons and triathlons, but also chose to teach sport as a profession, inspiring others every day. Her father said “Friends and her students talk about her as an enthusiastic person, who tried to involve and motivate students with great energy, enthusiasm and passion, as if it were a mission.”

Earlier this week we received an incredibly generous donation from her neighbours and also the Met Police, where Claudia previously worked. Although we are deeply saddened by the circumstances it has come in, we are extremely grateful as this donation is going to help so many young, disadvantaged Londoners achieve their sporting potential. We would like to thank Claudia’s former colleagues from the Met Police force for choosing us to donate to.
In commemoration of Claudia and her dedication to sport, we are going to be creating a new award, in the name of Claudia, to give to a young person we work with that shows outstanding attitude, dedication and passion towards sport.
Our thoughts are with Claudia’s loved ones and we would like to thank Claudia’s neighbours and former colleagues from the Met Police force for donating the money and equipment to us.
