Time out together is London Sports Trust’s new program of activities that supports parents and carers dealing with children with special educational needs.
We aim to promote social and mental wellbeing through our sessions including coffee mornings, cooking, city farming, board games and fun physical activities. Wellbeing activities like these are incredibly beneficial for parents and carers, providing them with a mental release from daily stressors that come with caring for special needs children. Within our Time Out Together project, we also organise educational trips such as our trip to Apple’s flagship store in Covent Garden.
Sunday 13thOctober, we partnered up with Apple to organise a morning of activities where families and children listened, learned and played with the newest Apple technology. The children were given the opportunity to try out live coding, create their own music, and discover how to use the latest photography and videography apps.
It was a super successful event, overall, a fantastic day!
Thank you so much Gav, Dan and the army of support from all the team at Apple Covent Garden.
Here is just some of the amazing feedback from the day…
The impact from this event has been fantastic with even more people now coming to our weekly Time Out Together activities.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this event happen. It has been an incredibly positive experience for all the Time Out Together families, helping to bring awareness surrounding autism and special needs as well as creating enjoyable and positive experiences.
