 School Games

Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea

Our school games mission is to put physical activity and competitive sport at the heart of schools and provide young people with the opportunity to compete and achieve their personal best.

We aim to inspire young children to be physically active for life by providing every child with a positive experience in an environment where the young person’s motivation, competence and confidence are at the centre of the competition.

This Autumn half term we have set up 9 Inter-school leagues in Basketball, Football and Netball across the RBKC borough engaging with 21 different primary schools.

We have also held 6 School Game Tournaments across RBKC in Netball, Quicksticks Hockey and Girls Football with the winners representing RBKC at the School Games National finals. This also acts as a pathway event to the London Youth Games.

The School Games is a government led programme funded by Sport England National Lottery funding and the Youth Sport Trust.
